Μπήκαμε αισίως στο 2024, γι' αυτό ευχόμαι σε όλους να έχουμε μια καλή χρονιά. Πάντως ξεκίνησε πολύ καλα! Στο πρώτο live για το νέο έτος είχαμε τους Arrayan Path, Mirror και Hardraw. Αρχικά είχαν ανακοινωθεί οι Solitary Sabred, αλλά λόγω προβλήματος υγείας δυστυχώς δεν μπόρεσαν να εμφανιστούν.

Hardraw

Ο κόσμος άρχισε σιγά σιγά να γεμίζει το μαγαζί, και πρώτοι στην σκηνή ανέβηκαν οι Hardraw. Με έκπληξη είδα τη θέση του μπάσου, να την έχει αναλάβει για τη βραδιά ο Αδάμος Αδάμου που είχε να τον δω να παίζει live εδώ και πολλά χρόνια, όταν υπήρχαν οι RUST πριν γίνουν RUSTX. Αρκετά δεμένη η πεντάδα με τον Jimmy στα φωνητικά, ζέσταναν το κοινό με τα δικά τους τραγούδια δίνοντας ρέστα. Έκλεισαν το σόου τους με το κλασικό Night's Dark Figures.

Mirror

Στη συνέχεια τα ηνία ανέλαβαν οι Mirror. Το τελευταίο εξάμηνο είχαν εμφανιστεί ζωντανά σε μερικές χώρες της Ευρώπης, και πλέον με 3 ολοκληρωμένους δίσκους στη φαρέτρα τους, έχουν γίνει ένα από τα μεγαλύτερα ονόματα της Κυπριακής σκηνής. Απολαμβάνεις το κάθε κομμάτι που παίζουν, με την ένταση και τον παλμό να συγχρονίζονται στο ίδιο μήκος κύματος. Όπως και την προηγούμενη φορά που τους είδα live, έτσι και τώρα, πιάνω τον ευατό μου να σιγοψιθυρίζει για λίγες μέρες μετά την φράση "Die! Die! Die, bastards leaders Die!".

Arrayan Path

Και έφτασε η μεγάλη στιγμή για τους Arrayan Path. Είχαν να εμφανιστούν ζωντανά σε Κυπριακή σκηνή πάνω από 7 χρόνια, οπόταν η αναμονή ήταν αρκετή και η δίψα μεγάλη. Το 2024 σηματοδοτεί τα 20 χρόνια επετείου από την κυκλοφορία του Road to Macedonia, του πρώτου ολοκληρωμένου δίσκου της μπάντας. Πλέον μετρούν 9! δίσκους. Είναι τόσα πολλά τα κομμάτια τους (πάνω από 100!) που σίγουρα κάποιοι δεν θα είναι πλήρες καλυμμένοι μιας και μπορεί να μην άκουσαν αυτό που θα ήθελαν.

Intro μουσική ανεβαίνοντας επί σκηνής, και καπάκι Gabriel is Rising με το The Fall of Mardonius να ακολουθεί. Έπαιξαν διάφορα τραγούδια από την δισκογραφία τους, με την πλειοψηφία να είναι από τον πιο πρόσφατο (Thus Always to Tyrants), αφήνοντας απ'έξω 2 δίσκους (Stigmata, Archegonoi) που δεν ακούσαμε κανένα κομμάτι. Αξίζει να σημειωθεί πως το παρθενικό του παίξιμο σε live σκηνή έκανε το Ishtar από τον δεύτερο τους δίσκο (Terra Incognita). Για κλείσιμο είχε την τιμιτική του το Road to Macedonia, ενώ ακολούθησε και η διασκευή από τους Iron Maiden, Can I play with Madness.

We have happily entered 2024, so I wish everyone a good year. However, it started very well! At the first live show for the new year we had Arrayan Path, Mirror and Hardraw. Solitary Sabred were originally announced, but due to a health problem they were unfortunately unable to perform.

Hardraw

People slowly started to fill the venue, and Hardraw were the first to take the stage. I was surprised to see that the bass position has been taken over for the night by Adamos Adamou who I had seen him play live many years ago, when RUST existed before they became RUSTX. The quintet, with Jimmy on vocals, was strongly bonded, warming up the audience with their own songs. They closed their show with the classic Night's Dark Figures.

Mirror

After them, Mirror took over. In the last six months they have appeared in some European countries, and now with 3 complete records in their quiver, they have become one of the biggest names on the Cypriot scene. You enjoy every piece they play, with the volume and pulse syncronized on the same wavelength. Like the last time I saw them live, I find myself whispering "Die! Die! Die, bastards leaders Die!" for a few days.

Arrayan Path

And the big moment has arrived for Arrayan Path. They had more than 7 years to appear live in Cyprus, so the wait was long and the thirst high. The year 2024 marks the 20th anniversary of the release of Road to Macedonia, the band's first full-length album. Now they count 9! disks. They have so many tracks (over 100!) and surely some people will not be completely covered since they might not have heard what they wanted.

Intro music for their arrival, and straight to Gabriel is Rising with The Fall of Mardonius to follow. They played various songs from their discography, with the majority being from the most recent (Thus Always to Tyrants), leaving out 2 albums (Stigmata, Archegonoi) which we didn't hear any track. It is worth noting that his maiden performance on a live stage was made by Ishtar from their second album (Terra Incognita). For closing, the honours were given to Road to Macedonia, while the cover by Iron Maiden, Can I play with Madness followed.
