Έχουν περάσει 36 χρόνια από την ίδρυση της Σουιδικής μπάντας Therion, τους πρωτοπόρους της συμφωνικής μέταλ μουσικής. Την περασμένη Παρασκευή, πάτησαν το πόδι τους για πρώτη φορά στην Κύπρο.



Η ώρα 21:00 ανέβηκαν επί σκηνής οι Arrayan Path. Μόνο ένας μήνας πέρασε από την πρόσφατη headline εμφάνιση που τους είδα live στις αρχές του έτους. Αυτή τη φορά ήταν πολύ σύντομη η σκηνική τους παρουσία μιας και μόλις 7 κομμάτια έπαιξαν. Ίσως είναι η πρώτη μου φορά που τους είδα ζωντανά και δεν παίχτηκε το Road to Macedonia. Να σημειωθεί ότι έρχεται ειδικό εορταστικό σόου 20 χρόνων κυκλοφορίας του ντεπούτου τον ερχόμενο Απρίλιο στο Open the Gates II Festival.

Στις 22:00 η ώρα εμφανίστηκαν οι Therion. Το Σουιδικό "θηρίο" του συμφωνικού ήχου μας έπαιξε 22 κομμάτια από την πλούσια τους δισκογραφία, σε μια δίωρη ζωντανή εμφάνιση. Καινούρια και παλιά κλασικά τραγούδια από την 7-μελές μπάντα, με τον ιδρυτή Christofer Johnsson στην κιθάρα, ως το μόνο ιδρυτικό μέλος. Απολαυστικοί σε κάθε κομμάτι, με τα γυναικεία σοπράνο φωνητικά να κατακλύζουν την αίθουσα.

It's been 36 years since the formation of the Swedish band Therion, the pioneers of symphonic metal music. Last Friday, they set foot in Cyprus for the first time.

At 21:00, Arrayan Path open the night. It's only been a month since their last headline show that I saw them live at the beginning of the year. This time their stage presence was very short as they only performed 7 songs. It might be my first time seeing them live and Road to Macedonia wasn't played. Note that there is a special 20th anniversary show since the release of their debut album, the upcoming April at the Open the Gates II Festival.

At 22:00 the Therion appeared. The Swedish symphonic metal beast performed for us 22 tracks from their rich discography, in a two-hour live show. New and old classics from the 7-piece band, with founder Christofer Johnsson on guitars as the only founding member. Delightful in every moment, with female soprano vocals overwhelming the venue.
